Kirby Bedon: St Andrew

St. Andrew's Church in Kirby Bedon is situated in an idyllic rural setting that is surprisingly close to Norwich. It is small, attractive medieval church with a peaceful atmosphere. It has an ancient door, some historic memorials, including one to the crew members of an American bomber that tragically crashed near the village in WW2. It has attractive stained glass and is open daily between 9.30am and 4pm.

Opposite the church are the ruins of St. Mary's church, which feel into disuse by the eighteenth century. The ruins are in a dangerous condition and are fenced off in order to protect the public. However, they are visible from the road.

The parish of Kirby Bedon & Whitlingham: St Andrew is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Norwich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
