St Michael & All Angels

Ours is a very old church with Saxon origins, but many newer additions and the congregation is friendly and welcoming.

The layout is very adaptable, as we have free-standing chairs, so many events as well as church services take place in the same building.

Held on 'odd' dates in Flax Bourton church (we meet at Barrow Gurney church on the 'even dated Sundays - 6th, 14th, etc.). A mix of old and new hymns and friendly welcome. Refreshments are usually available after the service, giving a chance to chat to our friends and neighbours.

Services are shared between Barrow Gurney, on even dates and Flax Bourton, on odd dates. There is a room within the body of the church which is available for children and their carers to do creative

St Michael's is an ancient church and well worth a visit. There are cards on the bookcase inside the door and they tell you a little about our historyWe would ask that you sign the visitors' book when you are here, so that we can see who has been in.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Flax-Bourton is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Bath & Wells’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm, please contact the PSO Mel James on 01275 464956 or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Ben Goodhind on Email: [email protected]
If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
