Launceston: St Mary Magdalene

A very warm welcome to you all, from St Mary Magdalene Church Launceston, part of Launceston Parish Churches.  Our Church is built on the site of a mediaeval chapel consecrated in 1524, although the site is probably older.  The current church was built following the tragic death of Sir Henry Trecarell's young son in 1511 (find the full story here).  Our Church tradition includes a robed choir, who provide much of the music for our worship, directed by Robin Stubbs.

We meet weekly at 10.30am or 5.30pm, in addition virtual services for our YouTube channel,   can be found here.  There are also stories for children's ministry and we are hosting four prayer meetings via Zoom each week.  If you would like to join us for any of these services, please email our Parish Office for the links.  Our Parish Facebook page also has links to Daily Prayer with the Church of England Common Worship, as well as other helpful resources to keep us worshipping in this unusual time.

If you would like to receive our weekly mailings with prayers, service invitations and notices, please email our Parish Office to be added to the group mailing list. To keep up to date with everything we're doing, please visit our Facebook page.

Safeguarding is important to us

The parish of Launceston is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops' guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Truro’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
