Frizinghall: St Margaret

We are a family friendly, evangelical Anglican church in Frizinghall (between Shipley and Bradford) with very strong links with the local community.

At St. Margaret's we worship God, our Father, who is

a loving God who cares,a holy God who forgives,a living God of power. We know that God's own Son, Jesus Christ, died on the cross so that we - and you - can receive the gift of eternal life and know the power of his Holy Spirit transforming our lives day by day.

Jesus is interested in our lives and cares about what happens to us - have you ever considered Jesus Christ as the way to a new life?

Will you come and worship God with us and find new life in Jesus?

Who are we? And where are we going?

Our Mission is....

To live out and give out the good news of Jesus Christ!

Who we are & What we’re about

We are a group of people who:

Love God: We love God because He loved us first, and we’re on a journey of faith together.

Love each other: We’re a welcoming family of Jesus followers, who value relationships and belonging.

Love our communities: We believe Jesus makes a difference in people’s lives, and we want our communities to flourish as God intends.

Vision: What does the St. Margaret’s of the future look like?

We will be a group of people who will:

Love God: We’ll be a community where people love God above all else and help each other grow to become more like Jesus. We’ll meet with God, talk about God, explore faith issues, pray together, and spur one another on in faith.

Love each other: We’ll be a church that continually welcomes new people into the church family and where each of us experiences deep care for their needs. We’ll live life together to the full.

Love our communities: We’ll be a body that equips every member to live out and give out the good news of Jesus to the people we spend time with during the week, as well as the people we meet at outreach activities. Our priorities for 2020-22: Improving our care for one another, by deepening our relationships with each other through time together. Making our worship and teaching more focused on strengthening and equipping us for our lives and relationships midweek. Providing opportunities for those who are new to faith or exploring faith to discover more of the good news of Jesus Christ. Focusing our parish-based outreach on getting to know people (prioritising outreach activities that strengthen relationships and work on the basis of depth of relationships). Becoming a prayerful church, seeking God together for the life and growth of our church, knowing that it is in Him and through Him that change comes.

St Margaret's Church is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Leeds’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services. More details are on our website.

Join us at 10am in church every Sunday morning.
Our services combine worship, prayer, and learning from the Bible, as we meet with the Lord Jesus Christ, and seek to follow him.

Jesus Christ is alive and is at work among us. So we like to meet regularly to encourage one another in following him, and regularly sharing together the meal ("Holy Communion" / the "Lord's Supper") by which he taught us to remember his death and rising again for us.

First Sunday of the month is "United" - our all-age service with a variety of ways to engage to suit all ages and styles.
Other Sundays - separate groups for secondary, primary and pre-school ages.
Holy Communion twice a month (usually 2nd and 4th Sundays in the month).

We have a variety of services on in December, both online (via our YouTube channel), and in our church building. You are very welcome at any of these.
