St Peter’s Mothers’ Union Banner

On Sunday 7th April Revd Ben Bradshaw dedicated a Mothers’ Union banner at a service at St Peter’s Church. This original Mothers’ Unionbanner was located by Celia Scott at Norwich Cathedral’s Diocesan Office at Easton in 2015. It was in a very sorry state. Taking advice from MariaJordan, an expert in textile conservation through her work with the Historic Royal Palaces and the National Trust, Monica Riley, a local resident, undertook to stabilize the fragile material. It was then professionally framed and following advice from the Diocese, the banner has been presented to, and hung at, St Peter’s Church in Neatisheadcourtesy of John and Monica Riley, both Friends ofSt Peter’s Church.

The PCC presented Monica and John with a small gift to thank them for their generosity and particularly to Monica for her dedication in restoring the banner so beautifully.

On behalf of the Children's Society, thank you to those who attended the Crib Service at St Michael's Church Irstead and also at St Michael and All Angels for the Christingle Service, for the amazing, combined donation of £393.
