St Mary the Virgin, Fen Ditton

St Mary's Church stands close to the River Cam and is a much loved landmark for rowers, dogwalkers and others seeking refuge from the busy city.  Our parish includes the ancient village but also a good part of the urban development (built in old Ditton's fields) and all of the newest local development, Marleigh.  We have an active church community with services at 10.30am each Sunday, except the last Sunday of the month when we join with our sister churches in Teversham or Horningsea.  There are regular midweek study evenings and a coffee morning on alternate Wednesdays.

What's on

Rogation Sunday service

Occuring
for 1 hour
Venue
St Peter's, Horningsea
Address
St Peter's, Horningsea

Join us at Horningsea for a cafe-style service to celebrate Rogation Sunday - followed by walks to Anglesey Abbey for lunch, and Teversham for an afternoon service.

You are welcome to join us for some or all of the day when, traditionally, parishes ‘beat the bounds’ and pray for God’s blessing on the land. There will be two walks – one from St Peter’s Horningsea to Anglesey Abbey and the second from Anglesey Abbey to All Saints Teversham (both are 4 miles). In between there will be the opportunity for lunch at Anglesey Abbey – either sharing a picnic lunch or eating at the Redwoods Restaurant. The day will be topped and tailed with worship. We will co-ordinate lifts so that participants can get to and fro between their starting-point, destination, and home!
