About Us

St James is set just outside the village of Staunton. It is accessed via a private road or following the public footpath signed from the layby near the church.

St James is a very welcoming church, often opening the church for cream teas during the summer and events through the year.

We are unable to offer a Sunday School, but families are always welcome and we provide activity bags for children.

St James is part of the West of Severn Benefice incorporating the villages of Ashleworth, Corse, Hartpury, Hasfield, Maisemore, Staunton and Tirley.

The West of Severn Benefice takes its duty and obligation to protect all extremely seriously. We have adopted the national Church of England’s robust procedures and guidelines. You can find out more about the national policies and procedures at www.churchofengland.org/safeguarding

The churches of our West of Severn Benefice will strive to create and maintain environments that are safe for all, that promote well-being, that prevent abuse, and that create nurturing, caring conditions within our churches for children, young people and vulnerable adults. Our Benefice Council and our Parish Church Councils shall support our benefice and church safeguarding officers in adhering to safer good practice and to challenge the abuse of power.
