St John's Church our Position and Plans for the Future.

WE INVITE YOU TO A BUFFET AND WINE EVENING TO HEAR ABOUT ST JOHN’S CHURCH POSITION AND PLANS FOR 2019 AND BEYOND. 22 MARCH 7PM. ALL WELCOME

As I write in early February while snow is on the ground we begin to see in the thaw the signs of spring arriving. Daffodils and snow drops are beginning to emerge in gardens around the village. The first signs of spring, snow drops remind me each year of the new beginning, new life of Easter to come. We at St John’s Church continue to embrace our own time of new beginnings.

As we look back over the past couple of years we have begun some exciting changes at St John’s thanks in part to generous donations from members of our community and church. You will have heard the church bell ring out after the repair of the bell cote. And have noticed, after the removal of trees in the car park, the new Church noticeboard advertising church and community services and events in and outside of church.

Along with this endeavour St John’s church are building a team of volunteers to launch a monthly Messy Church in addition to the recently launched children’s Church on the 3rd Sunday of each month. We would like to remind you that this year Mothering Sunday falls on the 31st March this year and we will be marking this celebration of Mothers and all those who care for us with a Family Communion service at which children from St Johns Academy will sing. This month we hold the annual Community Pancake Party in church on Shrove Tuesday, 5th March 6pm. A Café Church Lent course runs for 4 weeks beginning Tuesday 12th March at 7pm.

Our continued involvement in the community is very important to us and is something we will be looking at closely at the buffet and wine event on 22 March at 7pm. Speaking that evening will be Revd. Richard Steel Diocese Mission Adviser and Mrs Sue Manders Church Treasurer.

WE INVITE YOU TO COME ALONG TO THIS EVENT TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE POSITON OF ST JOHN’S CHURCH AT THIS IMPORTANT TIME IN THIS VILLAGE’S HISTORY. THE EXCITING PLANS WE HAVE FOR THE FUTURE AND THE WAYS IN WHICH WE CAN ALL WORK TOGETHER FOR OUR COMMUNITY.

Blessings, Revd Jacqueline
