Facilities and features

Accessibility

Toilet facilities are available in the church hall which is a short distance across the road from the church in the market place and are usually accessible when there is a service on. There is an easily accessible lavatory too, accessible for wheelchair usera.

There is a baby changing facility within the easily accessible toilet area of the church hall .

There is a limited amount of parking available on the road outside the south of the church and on the market place square to the north of the church in the village , across the road.

There is an accessible toilet ,wheelchair friendly access.

There is a defibrillator on the exterior wall of the church hall in the market place , Swineshead.

Entrance to the church has a ramped entrance

This facility is available in church , please switch your hearing aid to T to access it.

Assistance dogs are welcome

The West door of the church and ancient wooden door. It is the main door used to enter the church and it can be opened fully to allow wheelchair users to enter the building. There is a ' foot passenger' door that is within this door that cannot be entered in a wheelchair but we will open the main door for you.


Our Building

The church has got some stained glass window

The church is open during the day for individual prayer and lighting of Candles for your prayers and thoughts about loved one and other thoughts and feelings. There is also a prayer board , if you write on a piece of paper our prayer team will pray for the contents of the prayer board.

The building is grade 1 listed


Music and Worship

There is a bell ringing group here at the church . Please email for details. Thursday night is practice night, volunteers welcome both experienced and new.

all events will be listed on the church website under events.

There is a church organ but we do not have an organist at the moment. Offers to play are welcomed.

We do not have a regular church choir , any offers to start one up and encourage members to join will be most welcome.

As advertised on our events page and also there is Coffee and Chat which is an informal coffee morning for friends to meet and make new friends and just have a chat over a cup of coffee or tea with biscuits. It is on the first Saturday of each month and held in the church hall, opposite the church building. Please just drop in any time between 10am until 12 noon. We will be pleased to see you.

Help for Visitors

Friends of St Mary's Swineshead run Mary's cafe in the church when they hold a fund raising event . These events are usually advertised on Friends of St Marys Facebook page and sometimes on the church website events page.

Other Features

The church is set within the village conservation area

The church hall is for hire . A very nice venue with toilet and kitchen facilities for hire for any events such as weddings, baptisms, adult or children's parties or funerals for example. Please email and this will be passed onto to the dedicated booking team.

There is a prayer board in the church where you can write on a post it pad and your request for prayer will be prayed for. There are some tea candles that can be lit in prayerful thought for others and for your own reason.
