St Thomas’ Church has been lovingly cared for by a small group of volunteers for many years, and to whom we are very grateful. This group is now even smaller in number and older in age. The congregation is small, and while occasional services are held here, there has in recent times been a preference to celebrate Festivals in neighbouring churches where numbers are larger. There is then a question about the future of St Thomas’ Church. Is there a desire and enough local commitment for St Thomas’ to remain open? The villages of Hill & Moor are part of the Ecclesiastical Parish of Fladbury, Hill & Moor, Wyre Piddle, Cropthorne and Charlton, also known as the Five Alive Parish. The church’s work remains to the people of all these communities; the question we now ask is “How best can this be done?” We are inviting you to come and be part of the conversation. Please come along to the meeting on Monday 10 June at 7:30pm at Moor Village Hall if you are interested and able. If you can’t be there but would like to be kept informed or would like to contribute to the conversation, please email fmwcc01@gmail.com. The Dean of Smaller Churches for the Diocese of Worcester, the Rev’d Alison Maddocks will be attending and will offer insights to help our considerations. Sarah.
